CLUB CLASSIC
Preparations are well under way for our very popular Club Development Classic which takes place over the August Bank Holiday week end. Since the new developments have taken place members have been very supportive and have given much help both financially and otherwise over the past number of years. Played on Sunday last. Top 16 have qualified for match play. All on 69, 70 and 71 plus Alan Naylor on 72.
INTER CLUB
Good luck to our Tudenham and Senior Cup teams who will represent the Club this weekend;
On Friday our Tudenham team under manager Tom Rigney face Moate. Playing at home are :Billy McGarry/Martin Talbot, Fran Quinn/Paschal Foley and Roger Byrne/Tony McCormack. Away are:Stephen Grogan/John Connell and Michael Lyons/Tom Rigney.
On Saturday and Sunday a qualifying stage of the Leinster Senior Cup will take place in the Glenns. Sixteen teams will take part with Birr v Tullamore first off on Sat. morning at 8 am. The last pairing Mullingar v Castlebarna are on the tee at 10.50. The quarter finals will take place between 1.30 and 4 pm. On Sunday the first of the semi finals is due off at 8 am with the second at 9.10. The final takes place at 2.30.
Members have a tee time from 11.30 to 1.00 on Sat. and from 10 am to 1.30 on Sun.

LADIES’ GOLF
Lancome 18 Hole Competition. The Lancome 18-Hole Competition will be held on this Wednesday 14th July. Draws at the usual times on the day. Ladies please note that this will be the last 18-Hole competition prior to Lady Captain’s Day and is an ideal opportunity to get a third card in.
Lady Captain’s Prize Day. Sunday the 25th July is the day and Lady Captain is busy planning for the weekend. Full details are now available and are posted in the locker room for your attention. Please put your name down for the competition and also for the dinner on the evening. There will be a 9-hole competition for beginner and improver ladies in the morning so all interested ladies please ensure you have your name down for the draw. The draw for partners will take place on Wednesday, 21st July. There will also be a 9-hole competition on this evening for all ladies after which the draw and also all outstanding prizes will be presented. The bookies will be on hand also on the Wednesday evening to lighten the purses!! On behalf of all the members we extend Lady Captain Kathleen our very best wishes for her weekend.
Junior Foursomes Quarter Final. Heartiest congratulations to the Junior Foursomes Ladies under the management of Evelyn Lynch who beat Athy in Killerig, Co. Carlow last Sunday. The team of Lady Capt. Kathleen Doorley/Rita Delaney, Mary O’Gorman/Yvonne Boland, Maura Flannery/Aileen Watkins had a magnificent win with a nailbiting finish in the last match to the 19th.They now take on Moate in the semi-final in August at a date and venue to be decided.

SYMPATHY
The members offer deepest sympathy to Jo Graham and her family on the death of her sister Sr. M. Lorenzo in Limerick recently. Also to Andy Kenny and his family on the death of his brother Jack in Enniscorthy at the weekend.
