MOYLANS TO THE FORE
The final of the Spring League was played last Sunday and what a week it has been for the Moylan family. The Garbally team, from the hurls to the golf clubs, started last Tuesday when Padraig won the Open Singles, his brother Cormac took the Gross on Sunday, cousin Tomas captained his team to victory in the Spring League Final and his Dad Sean won the Weekend Singles (Guinness Book of Records take note).
SPRING LEAGUE
The Spring League Final was played last Sunday and resulted in a win for Team O, the last qualifying team in the League Rounds, captained by Tomas Moylan with Padraig Moylan, Paschal Foley, Ian Smyth and Thady Clancy, one of the most consistent players in the club who returned a team score of 144 pts to win from Team I captained by Michael Yates with Bernard McGurk, Matt Feenane, Dick Johnston and Dick Quinn who was also leading points scorer in the League. Presentation of these prizes will take place next Sunday night at 8 pm.

BIRR COMMUNITY SCHOOL CLASSIC
Birr Community School ran a very successful Golf Classic on Friday last organised by the Parents’ Council, with 30 teams taking part and when early rain cleared up, some hot scoring was returned with an all-ladies team of Mary Bolger Liz Pardy Mary Lonergan & Angie Hough coming home in first place with a great score of 96 pts. At the presentation of prizes, School Principial Mr. Tom Foley spoke of the great support of the community for the school and for the Classic. This year’s Classic was to raise funds for the upgrade of the school canteen.
COURSE IMPROVEMENTS
Well done to the Course Committee and Course Staff on the spectacular planting of shrubs & trees around the first tee area. Also the major clean up of the trees at the back of the 11th green. Members and visitors have been favourably with their comments keep up the good work. Many thanks also to our sponsors Erin Peats Ltd.
