Captain’s Prize
As in all golf clubs the Captain’s prize is the highlight of the year. This year our Captain Tom Rigney’s prize will be centre stage on the weekend of 11/12 July. Without doubt there will be keen competition for this year’s prize it being the first over the newly developed lands. All agree that the newly designed greens and the water hazards have made the course much tougher and challenging. It will be interesting to see how many scores in the low sixties are returned. Members are asked to have their names on the entry sheets on or before 8pm on Wed.8 July. Shannon Development who have done so much to promote industry, tourism and sport in the region have very kindly agreed to sponsor Tom’s prize. The members are looking forward eagerly to a splendid two days of golf when all will be keen to display their prowess.
President’s Mixed
Presidents Tony McCormack and Mary Ryan were absolutely delighted with the huge turnout for the first Presidents’ Mixed of the season. They were especially happy to see so many beginners and new members taking part. This mixed has been an attraction in the club for many years now and it is heartening to see the welcome afforded to the new members. Both 9’s were called into use on Monday which augers well for the rest of the Summer. Please note that the competition has a 5.30 start
