Special Offer
The Management Committee of the Club at a recent meeting decided to celebrate the centenary of the transfer of the Club to the Glenns in 1909 and the opening of the new holes by suspending the entrance fee until the end of April this year. This is a splendid opportunity for all those who would like to join a Club with an outstanding history and record. Birr Golf Club offers facilities second to none with an excellent 18-hole course and top class bar. Chef Cathal McIntyre offers first-rate dining facilities, Michael Horan’s Golf Shop attracts golfers from far and wide and professional Kevin McGrath gives expert guidance and tuition. Within the space of a few months the members will have nine new sand-based greens with three new fairways, a fitting way to honour the centenary and recall the dedicated work of all the members over the last one hundred years. Entry form may be had from the office (057 912 0082) or from any member of the committee.
Captain’s Drive-in postponed
Due to the inclement weather at the weekend the Captain’s Drive-in now takes place on Sunday 1st Feb. The entries will be taken at 12.30 p.m. with a 1 p.m. shot gun start. Please come out and support our Captain Tom Rigney and Lady Captain Mary Sullivan with Presidents Tony McCormack and Mary Ryan.
