Ladies’ Golf
Semi–finals of the Boyne Trophy take place on Wednesday 10th. We field a strong challenge, and the ladies carry all hopes and good wishes of the members. The second day of the competition to remember Lorna Hogan – kindly sponsored by JJ and her family also takes place on Wednesday. Next Sunday – Sept.14th is Ladies Open day sponsored by A Sportsman’s Dream in Nenagh. Siobhan Tynan (Sportsman’s Dream Owner) always presents practical and generous prizes from the shop which is unmatched in the area for its stock of serious quality sportswear. The shop is renowned for the attention given to fitting out sports persons of all ages. Sunday provides us all the opportunity to invite friends from other clubs to play. Lady President’s (Bernadette McTague) prize will be played for on Saturday Sept.20th and the draw for playing partners will take place on Thursday Sept. 18th. There will be a 9-hole competition running during the day (Thurs.) followed by presentation of outstanding prizes at 8 pm before the draw. Cathal McIntyre will be providing a special menu for the ladies and an opportunity for all to meet sponsors of seven competitons that have already been played. The Lady President’s competition is once more being generously sponsored by James Hamill, Ford Dealer in Ferbane, and the presentation of prizes will take place on Saturday evening after play. Ladies are still talking of the great week-end that we finally had for the Lady Captain’s prize. The sponsor, Zandra Fashions, has a delicious array of the new season’s collections now in the shop. It is not too early to shop for that delectable outfit for Christmas parties. The early bird will get the best choice. While we are coming towards the end of the Golf season, there is much on the calendar for the next few weeks, and the Glenns qualifying (Greensome- over 55’s) runs for the rest of the month. We already have a great entry from other clubs for this popular event on October 15th.
