President’s Prize
The centre of attraction this weekend will be President Michael Liffey’s prize sponsored by Brendan and Martina Carroll of Premier Insulations, Birr. A time sheet will be in operation for Saturday and Sunday. Presentation of prizes will take place at 9 pm on Sunday followed by music and food. There wil be a Ladies 9h Stableford from 5 pm.

The Austin Gleeson Mixed has reached the semi-final stage when Gavin Young/Sheila Brennan play Tim Kenny/Kay Kelly and Margot Regan/Liam O’Brien play Pat Molloy/Maura Flannery.
The draw for the Kenny Cup has been made and posted in the locker room. The first round of the Hackett Cup must be played on or before Sat 14th.
Inter Club
Congratulations to the Heineken Mixed on an excellent victory over Moate on Saturday. Managers Presidents Michael Liffey and Bernie McTague were very pleased with two home and two away wins. At home were: Kathleen Doorley/Michael Liffey, Ann Kenny/Pat Molloy and Aileen Watkins/Billy Donlon. Away were; Gemma Butler/Bernard Kennedy, Mary Ryan/Paschal Troy, Marie Tooher/Joe Slevin and Tori Baker/Eddie Nevin
Hard luck on our Barton cup team and manager Ger Gath who went down by the odd match against Moate on Sunday. At home were John Dwyer/Ger Gath, Shane Guinan/Aidan Hogan, Pat Maher/John Wims. Away were Billy Donlon/Tim Kenny and Declan Gath/Pat Molloy.

Course work
Course work continues each Wednesday at 7.00. The captains were delighted with the large turnout last week when much work was done. Sincere thanks to all who volunteered.
Ladies’ golf
Congratulations to Rita Enright (Captain/Manager) of the Miele Fourball Team, players Gemma Butler & Kathleen Doorley and Emer Hanniffy & Frances Ashe at Home and to Martina O’Brien & Mary Ryan and Anne Kenny & Marie Tooher Away. They scored a mighty victory against The Heath on Sunday. The team now meets the winners of the match between Gort & Curra West in the Regional Quarter finals. The Minor Cup team of Lady Vice-Captain Mary Sullivan, Rita Delaney, Dor Dempsey, (all Away) & Margot Regan & Aileen Watkins at Home play their Quarter final match against Cill Dara Monday June 9th. Evelyn Lynch’s Senior Foursome team have reached the Semi Finals, the first leg of which will be played against Tullamore at home on Thursday 19th. Together with the wonderful win in the Heineken Mixed on Saturday 7th it’s been another great week for Ladies’ Golf at the Glenns.

An 18 hole Stableford competition is being completed on Wednesday June 11th – usual arrangement for draws at 10am & 2 pm and play as you wish after 4pm. Cathal McIntyre, our hard working capable caterer is kindly sponsoring a competition to be run on Saturday 14th & Wednesday 18th.
Junior Golf
Junior Golf is now taking place on Mondays at 10 am. More information can be obtained from the clubhouse or Junior Organiser Aileen Watkins.
Sympathy
The members extend deepest sympathy to Mary Duffy on the death of her brother Tim Maloney in Spanish Point recently.
