Volunteers
Members who have volunteered to do some work on the course are asked to meet at the clubhouse at 7.00 pm on Wednesday evening. Please come prepared to work as the Course Committee has drawn up plans for the evening. The committee appreciates very much the generosity of the members who are prepared to devote their time and energy for the development of the course. Also members should note that there will be a walkabout on the course on Saturday 14 June at 4.00 pm.

Juveniles
The boys and girls in the Juvenile section are reminded that the summer competitions will start on Monday 9 June at 10.30. This important part of our Club activities has grown from strength over the past few years and the organisers are to be congratulated and thanked for all their hard work.
Ladies Golf
The ladies of Birr scored yet another victory last week! This time the Boyne Trophy team with Kathleen Doorley & Mary Ryan, Gemma Butler & Maura Flannery and Anne Kenny & Mary Sullivan at Templemore as well as Emer Hanniffy & Rita Delaney and Martina O’Brien & Aileen Watkins at home won decisively. Congratulations to all – Mary Grennan managed the team, but was unable to be on course for the match on Saturday; she was ably represented by Ann McIntyre. Next match is v Carlow. Next Saturday May 31st the Senior Foursomes have their return match v the Curragh at home. We need only to win one of the matches to progress to the semi finals. The Minor Cup will play their quarter final match against Cill Dara on Monday June 9th. Sadly we are no longer in the Newbridge mixed competition.

Draws take place on Wednesday at 10am & 2pm –members may play as they like afer 4.30pm. A Medal Competition sponsored by AIB Birr will take place on Wednesday June 4th & Sunday June 8th. The weekly competition on Saturday June 7th & Wednesday June 11th will be Stableford.
Sympathy
The members extend deepest sympathy to Michael Stephens and his family on the death of his sister Bernie in Lucan last week. Also to Bernard Wilks and his family on the death of his wife May in Banagher at the weekend.
