New Members
At the recent AGM the Management Committee proposed an incentive to encourage new members: that the entry fee be reduced to 500 euro for a full member and 800 euro for family membership for the months of December, January and February only. All going well, the new course should be playable by early Summer when the three new fairways and seven new greens will have matured. Members are very excited about this new development and are eagerly looking forward to added challenges. New members will certainly be very welcome
Notices
Placing on fairways and first cut (semi). No relief in the rough.
The Club has received the 2008-2011 Rules of Golf and the Rules of Amateur Status. Copies are available in the locker room.
The Club regrets that due to course development the Senior Scratch Cup will not be run this year.
It is hoped to commence a texting service in the Club this year. Application forms for names and mobile phone numbers were sent out with the annual subscription bill. It is hoped that this service will be used to inform members of ongoing events and for the promotion of the Club.
The Club will always welcome sponsors. Please contact Francie Horan (057 9120082) if you would like to sponsor some event.
Locker Shed
Members are requested to remove their lockers from the shed on or before 31 Jan. 2008. Plans are in train to extend the present caddy shed and provide extra facilities.
Young Masters’ Golf
Kevin McGrath, Golf professional, invites applications for his Young Masters’ golf lessons. These will start at the end of February and all interested in taking part should apply without delay.
Sympathy
The members extend deepest sympathy to Jo Graham and her family on the death of her husband Brian last week. Brian played a very active role in the running of the Club’s affairs over many years. He was Captain in 1986 and President in 2001 and served on several committees and sub committees over the years. His advice and expertise were much sought after especially in the care and development of the greens and we will miss his warm companionship in the club and on the course. As a mark of respect to his memory the Club was closed on Saturday morning. I measc na naomh go raibh sé.
