New Members
At the recent AGM the Management Committee proposed an incentive to encourage new members: that the entry fee be reduced to 500 euro for a full member and 800 euro for family membership for the months of December, January and February only. All going well, the new course should be playable by early Summer when the three new fairways and seven new greens will have matured. Members are very excited about this new development and are eagerly looking forward to added challenges. New members will certainly be very welcome.

Seniors
The Thursday Seniors had a most enjoyable Christmas outing plus dinner last week. This club-based society has been one of the success stories of the past few years. The organisers John Gilmartin and Michael Ashe have seen it grow from strength to strength with almost forty golfers attacking the course each week. Over fifty members sat down to dinner splendidly presented and served by Cathal McIntyre and his excellent staff. John Gilmartin welcomed all, especially guests Tom Hayes, Jim Phelan and John Gowing. Apologies were read from Brian Graham and Denis Doorley who were unable to attend. After the presentation of prizes Captain Paddy O’Brien and President Michael Liffey thanked John and Michael for their hard work and their organisational skills. President Michael acted as MC for the evening and with the assistance of Richie Burke on keyboard teased party pieces out of all.
