Management AGM
Members please note that the Management AGM will now take place at 5 pm on Sunday 2 Dec. This slight time change was made in order to facilitate members wishing to attend the Leinster Club Final in Tullamore between Birr and Ballyboden. Best of luck to our hurlers. We look forward to some very exciting hurling. Members should also note that motions for discussion and nominees for the Management Committee have been posted on Sun. 25 Nov.
Captains’ Dinner
The annual dinner to honour our Captains Billy Donlon and Yvonne Boland will take place in the Clubhouse on Sat. 1 Dec. at 7.30 pm. A large turnout is expected to honour our popular captains and reservations can be made by contacting Joan at 057 9120082. A great evening is promised with music by Harmony.
Ladies’ golf
The Ladies AGM was held on November 16th. Lady President Bernadette McTague, Lady Captain Colette O’Brien and Lady Vice Captain Mary Sullivan have all taken office. The AGM was attended by 36 members. The out-going Lady President Mary Darcy, and the out-going Lady Captain Yvonne Boland both thanked the officers, committee members, staff, and all Ladies for their support during the past year. They both stated they had enjoyed their year in office, and wished the in-coming team good health and good luck in 2008.
Fine autumnal weather has encouraged members to play in Turkey Competitions which are being sponsored by Flynns Supermarker in Banagher. Turnout has been excellent, and all Turkey Competitions from now until Christmas are being run over 9 holes. Draws for playing partners are taking place each Wednesday at 10 am & 2 pm Members may enter and play on all other days at any time by arranging their own playing partner.
The 3rd Turkey Competition, which was played v par over 9 holes was won by Liz Nolan with 5up. Aileen Watkins took 2nd prize on the last 6 with a score of 3 up, and Liz Pardy was 3rd also with a score of 3 up.

Santa
Santa will pay his annual visit to the Club on Tues.18 Dec. at 6 pm. His visit is now a long established tradition and has been an important date in the social events of the Club. Annette Kenny and her House Committee look forward to welcoming all to see Santa.
Juniors
Juniors ongoing 9h Turkey Competition until Christmas. Entry € 2.00. Re entry €1.00.
Sympathy
The members extend deepest sympathy to Ann Connolly and to her family on the death of her husband Michael last weekend.
